Nice to meet you. I’m Jack Cearnal - an award-winning director and editor based in Ojai, CA.

I started out making run-and-gun style music videos in Brooklyn for Diplo, Beyonce, A$AP Rocky and many, many others. 

These days I make commercials and short-form content for brands like Acura, Corona, Patagonia, and Saucony.

I like taking big swings, asking unexpected questions, and embracing the occasional beautiful accident. I believe the best work starts with curiosity and believe in the power of asking “Why not?”

My approach? Break a few rules. Try something that might not work just to see what happens. Obsess over the little things—the rhythm of a cut, the texture of an image, the half-second of silence before everything changes.

Because the goal isn’t simply to make something people see.

It’s to make something they feel.

That moment when the pieces suddenly click into place. When an image lingers a little longer than it should. When something gets under your skin.

That’s the good stuff. And that’s what I’m chasing.
